The CBX attracts hundreds of leading global networking and IT visionaries who are Telx customers, prospects or technology partners. Over 1,000 attendees registered for the 2007 CBX and with the addition of hundreds of global network architects and network design professionals attending from NANOG, Telx expects the CBX to be even larger than past years. In addition, it is anticipated that attendees of the annual Global Telecommunications Meeting (GTM) and the newly formed International Telecom Week (ITW) held in Washington D.C., will be extend their trip to attend the CBX. The Brooklyn Bridge Marriott Hotel is offering discount hotel rates to attendees. “Each year the CBX event grows, not only larger but more focused and targeted toward companies we can actually do business with” commented Erick Contag, Director of US and International Marketing and Sales at Brasil Telecom GlobeNet. “Each year attending the CBX offers GlobeNet the opportunity to meet with relevant network operators, which directly and indirectly correlates into new business opportunities,” added Contag. CBX attendees appreciate this inherent benefit of attending, which is aided by the ability to schedule meetings with other confirmed attendees prior to the event through the Telx designed and branded One-On-One online meeting system. During the event there is a separate, managed area designated for these pre-arranged meetings, which Telx representatives facilitate by keeping track of scheduled appointments. The CBX also features a Press Room, where select exhibitors are invited to announce significant business developments before an audience of targeted reporters and media professionals. The 2007 media announcements featured major news affecting the global telecommunications industry by 4Connections, DataNet, Deutsche Telekom, Globenet/Brasil Telecom, Hibernia Atlantic, iNETWORKS Group, IPsmarx, ISID & HKCOLO, Luna, Mzima Networks, Tiscali International, VoIP Logic, and Stealth Communications. Press and Media attendees included Virgo Publishing, IP Business Magazine and Internet Telephony Magazine. "It seems to double in size every year. Last year in just one day we met 80 or 90 new contacts and we were introduced to a number of new companies and products through the CBX Press Room. That's why we make it a priority to attend and sponsor the event every year. It's not to be missed." Telx has already begun to sign-up sponsors and Press Room participants for the event on June 5, 2008. About telx About Merit Network, Inc. November 29, 2007: IDC Global Networks Expands into telx’s Chicago Facility 350 East Cermak Road in Chicago Hosts an Array of Global Network Operators
New York, NY and Chicago November 29, 2007
telx, the premier operator of Meet Me Room and Core Interconnection colocation Facilities in the United States announces IDC Global Networks, one of Chicago’s leading Colocation and private metro networking service providers, has taken space in telx’s facility at 350 East Cermak Road in Chicago.
IDC Global has recognized that telx’s Meet Me Room Facility is a strategic partnership enabling IDC Global and its colocation customer’s access to an expanded array of best of breed global network service providers and financial market data sources. “IDC Global is an ideal solution provider for the telx Meet Me Room facilities,” stated Tesh Durvasula, Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer for telx. “IDC Global, along with its own colocation facilities, also provides low latency, high bandwidth Wide Area Networking solutions to enterprises and telecom carriers. Not only can IDC’s colocation customers use IDC’s network to gain access to global network operators in our Meet Me Room but our customers can now cross connect to IDC Global’s metro network and benefit from their carrier neutral, wide area networking solutions and access to global financial market data” As Global Enterprise Networks become more sophisticated and their network requirements begin to mimic traditional global telecom carriers’, their networking equipment and the providers they procure from will need to be centralized, which is why global carriers choose to colocate with Meet Me Room and Core Interconnection Facility providers like telx. “The Meet Me Room model provides a cost effective approach to companies who need easy access to reliable, redundant, and best of breed solution providers in any market where they have a presence,” commented Shelly Greco from IDC Global. “Our decision to build into telx allows us access to an additional set of customers who are focused on purchasing global network and colocation services and increases the network choices and reach for our current customers.” Most interesting is the choice a Colocation and network solution provider, such as IDC Global, has made in seeking out a Meet Me Room and Core Interconnection Facility such as telx. The telx model provides customers, either within Data Centers or large Colocation space, the ability to connect to the most number of global networks with the smallest amount of presence. The focus at telx is on Core Interconnection services compared to Data Center and large Colocation Facilities whose focus is on the space and power. The two business models from telx and IDC Global, Data Centers and Core Interconnection Facilities compliment one another and are solutions that should be considered together rather than separately or competitively since they meet different requirements of Global Network Operators. Look out for more information about telx and IDC Global in the Chicago area as both companies prepare for a customer event to be held at 350 East Cermak in February 2008.
